Bang & Olufsen A8 in the iPhone

I’ve had my B&O earphones for over 5 years now and I wouldn’t want to listen to my iPhone on anything other than these wonderfully comfortable high-fidelity earphones. You might argue that it is a bit too much to want to write a whole blog about it, but then again I read a couple of customer reviews where people were talking about making the iPhone and the A8 work together, which is why I am posting these pictures for people to see that is the easiest fix to do by yourself, as opposed to sanding anything down to make them fit.
B&O’s A8 in the iPhone

If you have an A8 by Bang & Olufsen (I still can’t pronounce their name), you must have noticed that the A8’s connector is just a few millimeters short to a perfect fit in the iPhone. But if you are like me, you will also notice that the outside of the connector is made of a separate rubber layer. You can literally peal off the very end of this rubber layer like a banana peal until it fits in the iPhone’s receded headphone jack.
At the picture above, you will see that the middle connector is the modified version that I have cut. On the left is the iPhone earphone and on the right is the A8’s extension that comes with the A8.

The idea is that because it’s made of this kinda of rubber-like material, it is very easy to cut.
Above you can see that I’m not making this up. It does fit just perfectly and it is so simple. It’s the easiest and the best match. These earphone match the iPhone so nicely that I just love them.

And here’s a tip for any headphone or earphone and the iPhone. If you are listening to your music or whatever and you get a call, all you need to do so that you don’t unplug anything is to just talk to the iPhone upside-down where the microphone is. That way you will be able to listen to the person you are talking to in “stereo” and they will hear you better than any iPhone earphone’s mic. Just be aware that people are not used to seeing someone walk down the street talking to their hand with earphones on.
